For food for thought friday I just had to share one of my new favorite sites, Hungry Girl. Hungry Girl offers "tips & tricks...for hungry chicks" like you and me. (I don't know about you but I'm hungry a large part of the day, especially late at night while writing posts for freshly baked!)
Hungry Girl's tips and tricks include fantastic substitutions for high-fat, high-calorie, high-sugar items, great recipes, review, polls, and even a weekend survival guide. One of my favorite features is their "Chew the Right Thing" where Hungry Girl shares her "fabulous food finds & hidden horrors." I bet you didn't know a slice of Starbucks' Banana Nut Loaf contains as much as 470 calories and 24 fat grams! If you're a banana bread fan then you'll eat up Hungry Girl's healthier banana bread recipe. My favorite? HG's Frozen Fudge Chip Freeze. I am a big fan of Starbucks' Double Chocolate Chip Frappuccino Blended Creme and so I was more than thrilled to read about HG's just-as-decadent swap. I've included the recipe below to give you a taste of how truly tasty this site is!Hungry Girl's Frozen Fudge Chip Freeze
Satisfy those unhealthy late-night cravings by nibbling on the great info you'll find at Hungry Girl. Try "Who is HG?" first--it makes a great appetizer! --Emily
